Autolif Q1 revenue rose 15.9% in the world

Sweden’s Autoliv announced the first quarter’s financial data. The company’s business in all regions of the world has generally improved in the last quarter, while China still maintains the fastest growing single market for the company’s performance.

In the first quarter of 2014, the overall revenue of Autolif increased by 7.5% from the same period of 2013 to reach 2.296 billion U.S. dollars, exceeding the previous forecast; operating profit increased 5.1% year-on-year to US$192 million, but the operating profit rate was 8.5% in the same period last year dropped slightly to 8.4%; net profit rose 5.5% year-on-year to US$130 million.

In the three major business sectors, sales of airbag products with a proportionately large proportion of business reached US$1.486 billion, up 7.4% year-on-year; seat belt sales also increased by 2.1% year-on-year to US$703 million; the smallest scale of active safety The product department kept sharply higher, and its sales increased sharply by 68.5% year-on-year to US$107 million.

In the first quarter of the year, the Chinese market brought $356 million in sales for Autolif, which was a 15.9% increase year-on-year, and accounted for 15.5% of the company's overall business. The growth of its business in China was mainly attributed to the matching business of Wuling Hongguang S and Haval H6 Sports Edition, as well as models of foreign brands such as Nissan Teana, Ford Maverick and Volkswagen New Santana in China.

In addition, Autolif’s sales in all other regions of the world continued to grow in the first quarter, with growth rates in both Asia and Europe at around 10%. The demand in the Americas market was relatively weak, with sales growth in the previous quarter only rising by 2.3%.
