Coco Bo's cooperation with Daimler began in 1962. Cocobo first installed its engine brakes on the 71 series engine platform of Detroit Diesel (now Detroit Diesel, now a subsidiary of Daimler). In 1984, Coebo and Detroit Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. jointly developed the S60 engine platform. Since then, Coebo engine brakes have become standard on Detroit diesel engines. In 2007, Daimler announced a global engine platform. Detroit Diesel's DD13, DD15 and DD16 engines were used in Daimler Truck North America's vehicles.
