In order to speed up the upgrading of equipment for chemical companies, Shandong Province will further strengthen the construction of enterprise technology centers, strengthen the integration of production, teaching and research, and strive to complete large-scale mechanical equipment, new material processing, numerical control and networked manufacturing, high-performance basic parts design and manufacturing, and energy conservation and environmental protection. Breakthroughs have been made in key technologies such as recycling economy, providing technical support for equipment upgrades in the chemical industry. At the same time, Shandong Province will adhere to the four principles of “combination with structural adjustment, advanced application, introduction of technical equipment and independent innovation, and energy conservation and environmental protectionâ€, with a focus on eliminating 1 million tons/year or less of small oil refining units and 500,000 articles/year. It is understood that as of the end of 2006, the rate of equipment above the domestic advanced level of major industrial enterprises in Shandong Province was 62.1%, of which the equipment rate at the international advanced level was 23.9%. Among them, the ethylene single set of equipment increased from 450,000 tons/year at the end of the Ninth Five-Year Plan to 800,000 tons/year, the urea single-line device was increased from 120,000 tons/year to 500,000 tons/year, and the ratio of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda to caustic soda was increased.
