Beibei Jinan Truck Parts Factory officially put into production

Bessie recently announced that Bessie (Jinan) Thermal Systems Co., Ltd., the first wholly owned subsidiary of Bessie Group in China, has officially started production. The plant is located in the new industrial park in the east of Jinan City, about 900 kilometers northwest of Shanghai, and supplies air-conditioning parts and engine cooling systems to its truck customer China National Heavy Duty Truck Group. China National Heavy Duty Truck Group is one of the most successful heavy truck manufacturers in China, with sales of 2.6 billion euros in 2008 and annual sales of more than 100,000 vehicles.

Bellow Jinan currently employs 130 employees and has a total investment of approximately 3 million Euros. The goal is to achieve sales of more than €20 million in 2011.

Bessie entered the Chinese market in 2003, which also opened the curtain for the expansion of China, the world’s largest passenger car and truck market.

• In October 2003, through cooperation with Shanghai Automotive Industry Group, one of China's three largest automotive groups, Bellow established the first joint venture company in China: Shanghai Bellow Thermal System Co., Ltd. (SBTS), which mainly manufactures passenger cars. Air conditioning module, engine cooling system and parts;

• In 2004, Bessie established a second joint venture company in China: Shanghai Sandi Bellow Automotive Air Conditioning Co., Ltd. (SSB), which specializes in the development and production of refrigeration compressors for air-conditioning modules for passenger cars and trucks;

• In March 2004, Bessie further explored the local market and established Dongfeng Bessie Thermal Systems Co., Ltd. (DBTS) in cooperation with Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., one of China's largest truck manufacturers, dedicated to truck radiators and passenger vehicles. And engine cooling and air conditioning module production for trucks;

• In 2008, Bessie Electronic Thermal Control, a subsidiary of Bessie Group, also established its branch in Qingdao, China. Bessie Electronic Thermal Control (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. is engaged in the production of temperature control systems;

• In addition, Bessie Hella Temperature Control Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of BHTC (Behr-Hella Thermocontrol GmbH, a joint venture company of Bessie), also settled in Shanghai in 2004 to produce control panels for automotive air-conditioning systems.

At present, there are more than 3,000 employees of Bessie's subsidiaries and joint ventures in China. The total sales in 2009 amounted to approximately 170 million euros (joint sales are calculated based on Bellows’ share).
