Agilent Introduces 14 FieldFox Handheld Analyzers

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the availability of 14 FieldFox handheld analyzers that provide the same precision as benchtop instruments in field test environments. The series of analyzers include: FieldFox microwave analyzer, FieldFox microwave vector network analyzer, FieldFox microwave spectrum analyzer and so on. The FieldFox Series analyzers are designed for harsh conditions and difficult-to-reach measurement locations and cover satellite communications, microwave backhaul, military communications, radar systems, and many other applications.

FieldFox microwave analyzers can be configured as cable and antenna analyzers, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers or integrated combo analyzers. The compact 6.6-pound (3.0-kg) package offers four frequencies: 9, 14, 18, or 26.5 GHz.

Completely sealed housing conforms to U. S. MIL-PRF-28800F2 class standards to ensure the durability of the instrument in harsh environments. In order to improve ease of use, the instrument is equipped with vertical or image positioning and large size buttons, allowing the user to use the thumb to operate the instrument and even support the use of gloves.

GuySn, president of Agilent's Electronic Measurement Division, said: The FieldFox Analyzer is designed to help our customers perform on-site measurements with ease. Field workers use this rugged analyzer to perform routine maintenance, in-depth troubleshooting, and more. What's more, FieldFox can perform excellent microwave measurements no matter where our customers work.

The FieldFox Microwave Vector Network Analyzer provides full dual-port S-parameter measurements with low track noise as low as 0.004dB and dynamic range as high as 94dB (up to 18GHz). The VNA has a QuickCal feature that allows easy calibration without the use of external accessories. With other instruments, when adding additional devices such as jumper cables to the test port, the user needs to recalibrate using an external calibration kit.

The FieldFox Microwave Spectrum Analyzer provides industry-leading 0.5 dB amplitude accuracy at startup (without preheating), allowing field users to quickly and accurately characterize transmitter power. The analyzer can detect more signals in the frequency band of interest with a phase noise of -111dBc/Hz (10kHz bias) and measures low-level signals while using a high-power transmitter with a spurious-free dynamic range of 105dB. .

The basic function of a combination analyzer is cable and antenna analysis, and after configuration, spectrum and vector network analysis can also be performed. To further save space in the field kit, the FieldFox Analyzer can be ordered with a built-in power meter, independent signal generator, vector voltmeter, interference analysis, variable DC power supply, frequency counter, and built-in GPS receiver.

Two new FieldFox RF combination analyzers belong to the above 14 models: N9913A (4GHz) and N9914A (6.5GHz). The Agilent RF Analyzer family already includes the highly integrated N9912A RF analyzer (4 or 6 GHz) and the extremely accurate N9923A RF vector network analyzer (4 or 6 GHz), which further extends the product range.

Pyrimidine series intermediates

Pyrimidine, also known as 1,3-diazepine, is a heterocyclic compound with the chemical formula C4H4N2. Pyrimidine is formed by replacing 2 carbons in the meta-position of benzene with 2 nitrogen atoms, and is a diazine. Like pyridine, pyrimidine retains its aromaticity.

Application

(1) Anticancer drugs. In the selection of anticancer substances, it is crucial that there are significant differences between tumor tissues and normal tissues, that is, they have a certain ability to recognize target cells. Porphyrin compounds have special affinity for cancer cells due to their unique structures, and they can selectively stay in cancer tissues. The research of it as a localizing agent and a drug for diagnosis and treatment of cancer has already aroused great interest of chemists, medical scientists and biologists. 5-Fluorouracil is a widely used anti-metabolite and anti-tumor drug in clinic. It has inhibitory effect on various tumors. It has good clinical effect in the treatment of colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, breast cancer and other cancers. Polyesters, polyester hydrocarbons, polyester amides, deoxyribonucleic acid, furans, 5-fluorouracil derivatives linked to nitroxide radicals all have antitumor effects.

(2) Anti-AIDS drugs. Viral diseases have become one of the most harmful diseases to human beings, especially the spread of AIDS, which has aroused widespread concern. There are many kinds of anti-AIDS drugs that have been approved by the US Food Administration (FDA), many of which are nucleoside compounds. In order to reduce the toxicity of drugs and improve their efficacy, scientists have begun to turn their attention to the study of non-nucleoside compounds, and such compounds have become the focus of antiviral drug research.

Synthetic method

Pyrimidines and various substituted pyrimidines are synthesized in a variety of ways. For example, barbituric acid (2,4,6-trihydroxypyrimidine) can be obtained by the condensation of urea and diethyl malonate under the action of sodium alkoxide. Barbituric acid and phosphorus oxychloride are heated together to obtain 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine, which reacts with sodium methoxide to obtain trimethoxypyrimidine. Chloropyrimidines react with ammonia or primary and secondary amines to generate the corresponding aminopyrimidines. The derivatives of pyrimidine, cytosine, uracil and thymine, are the constituent parts of nucleic acid and deoxynucleic acid, and the pyrimidine part in the vitamin B1 molecule is a 4-amino-2-methyl-5-pyrimidine methyl group. Many oral long-acting sulfa drugs are derivatives of pyrimidine and its isomers.

The 2,4-dichloropyrimidine is prepared by reduction reaction in the presence of palladium, magnesium oxide and activated carbon.
