Due to defects in the belt tensioner assembly of the generator, some imported Grand Vitara cars from 2008 to 2010 will be recalled from February 28, 2011. According to the statistics of the company, the number of vehicles involved is 4007. The date is from June 2, 2008 to October 20, 2010, involving models TA04V-4M, TA04V-4M, TD04V-4M, and TD04V-4V.



The reason for the defect is that the built-in spring of the drive belt tensioner in the engine auxiliary system of the vehicle has defects and may be damaged. As a result, the belt tension cannot be automatically adjusted and the tension will be weakened, causing abnormal noise; if it continues to be used, there are Belt slippage may occur, resulting in the power steering pump, generator, and cooling pump failing to work properly. The steering becomes heavy, the battery warning light is on, and the water temperature gauge is high temperature warning; when it is serious, the steering assistance will fail and there is a safety hazard.

Suzuki (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will repair vehicles in the recalled area and replace the tensioner with improved parts for free to eliminate hidden dangers. For inventory vehicles, sales will be eliminated after eliminating defects.
