Wilhelmsen introduces an upgraded offshore nitrogen protection system

Recently, Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions introduced an upgraded offshore nitrogen protection system with significant functional improvements designed to increase efficiency and operating life.
Although the cargo tank inerting system was first introduced in 1984, Wilhelmsen has upgraded the system for efficient operation and reduced maintenance.
Stein Loevskar, Business Development Manager at Wilhelmsen, stated, “In addition to enhancing performance, we now have a complete system design and internal assembly. This will help us better control and provide users with quality and optimized solutions throughout their entire life. ."
The initial enhancement to the system uses a unique design with one of the smallest physical footprints in the market. In addition, the system needs only to be accessed from both sides when repairing, which means that the system can be installed in one corner, thus providing flexibility and space-saving installation characteristics.
It is reported that the system is also equipped with a fully automatic control and monitoring system that prevents potential damage and expensive repair of the film.
To protect flammable and sensitive cargo during transport, the cargo tank inerting system is often considered the preferred solution for cargo contamination.
The system will be equipped with reliable and longer lasting films. Because the film is specifically designed for the marine environment, it improves the resistance to high temperatures and helps the ship operate in a cargo tank inerting system at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C.
